The Assignment: Raise Awareness of Men's Health Issues

The W. K. Kellogg Foundation sought national exposure for findings of a medical study conducted by the American Public Health Association and published by the American Journal of Public Health that revealed a “silent health crisis” affecting men. The goal was to educate adult men of the benefits of preventive health care.

SRG worked to generate coverage of the release of this special report by holding a news conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. SRG enlisted the aid of NBA star Alonzo Mourning and Emmy award winning actor Robert Guillaume to join a panel of medical experts at the Press Club to discuss the healthcare issues and obstacles faced by men in gaining access to quality care.

News coverage ranged from the Associated Press and Reuters to articles in Newsweek, a report by CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who wrote an article for Time Magazine, as well as radio and television interviews.
